Managing Scan Profiles
Each ASV scan profile represents a single domain or IP address that is scanned on a recurring schedule for PCI DSS compliance.
Creating a Scan Profile
From the ASV Scanning page, click Create ASV Scan Profile and fill in the required details. See Getting Started for a step-by-step guide.
Important Constraints
- One target per profile — Each scan profile is locked to a single domain or IP address. Profiles cannot be moved to a different target after creation.
- Capacity limits — You can only create profiles up to the number of scan slots on your plan. The dashboard shows your current usage.
Scan Scheduling
When creating a profile, you configure:
- First scan date and time — When the initial scan should run. We recommend off-peak hours to minimize any impact on your systems.
- Scan frequency — Choose between:
- Monthly (recommended) — Scans run every 30 days, providing more frequent compliance checks and faster remediation cycles.
- Quarterly — Scans run every 90 days, meeting the minimum PCI DSS requirement.
PCI DSS requires ASV scans at least every 90 days. Monthly scanning is strongly recommended to catch issues early and maintain continuous compliance.
Viewing Scan Profiles
The ASV Scanning page displays all your profiles in a table with the following information:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| ASV Scan Profile | Profile name (click to view details) |
| Domain/IP | The target being scanned |
| Next scan | When the next scheduled scan will run |
| Scheduled | Scan frequency (Monthly, Quarterly) |
| Last scan result | Pass or Fail based on the most recent completed scan |
| Scans | Total number of completed scans |
| Actions | Download reports and manage the profile |
Downloading Reports
If a profile has completed scans with results, a Download latest reports button appears in the Actions column. This downloads a ZIP archive containing all report types from the most recent scan. See Reports & Evidence for details on report types.
Capacity Management
The dashboard shows two summary cards:
- Used profiles — Shows how many profiles you have out of your total capacity (e.g., “2/3”). When at capacity, the message “Max capacity reached” appears.
- Compliant profiles — Shows how many profiles have passing scan results out of your total profiles.
