Microsoft Teams Integration
The Microsoft Teams integration sends vulnerability notifications and scan updates directly to your Teams channels, keeping your security team informed without leaving their primary communication platform.
What You Get
With the Teams integration enabled, Detectify sends notifications for:
- New vulnerability findings with severity level, affected asset, and a link to the full finding
- Scan completions with result summaries
- Attack surface changes when new assets or changes are detected
Setup
Prerequisites
- A Detectify account with admin or team admin permissions
- Permission to add connectors or workflows in your Microsoft Teams workspace
Configuration Steps
- In Detectify, navigate to Settings > Integrations.
- Find Microsoft Teams in the list of available integrations and click Configure.
- Detectify provides a webhook URL configuration. Copy the incoming webhook URL from your Teams channel:
- In Microsoft Teams, navigate to the channel where you want notifications
- Click the channel menu and select Connectors (or Workflows depending on your Teams version)
- Add an Incoming Webhook connector
- Name the connector (for example, “Detectify Alerts”) and optionally upload an icon
- Copy the generated webhook URL
- Paste the webhook URL into the Detectify configuration.
- Select which notification types and severity levels to include.
- Click Save.
Testing the Integration
Click Send Test Notification to verify that messages appear in your Teams channel. If the test message does not appear:
- Verify the webhook URL is correct and has not been regenerated
- Check that the Incoming Webhook connector is still active in the Teams channel
- Ensure your organization’s Teams policies allow incoming webhooks
Managing Notifications
Severity Filtering
Configure the integration to send notifications only for findings at or above your desired severity threshold. This prevents notification fatigue from lower-severity findings that can be reviewed during scheduled triage.
Channel Routing
Set up multiple Teams integrations with different webhook URLs to route notifications to different channels based on severity, product, or asset group.
Disconnecting
To remove the Teams integration, navigate to Settings > Integrations > Microsoft Teams and delete the configuration. This stops all Teams notifications immediately.
