AWS Route 53
The AWS Route 53 connector imports the domains stored in Route 53. You can connect with an IAM role, which is recommended, or with an IAM user’s security credentials.
Connect with an IAM Role
- In Detectify, open DNS Connectors, click Add connector and choose AWS Role (IAM Role). The setup flow shows the External ID to use in AWS.
- In AWS, create a new IAM role with an AWS account as the trusted entity:
- Set
106117174171as the Account ID. - Set the External ID from the setup flow. Make sure Require MFA is not checked.
- Set
- In the role’s permissions policies, attach
AmazonRoute53ReadOnlyAccess. - Give the role a descriptive name and create it. You can reuse the connector name to identify it.
- Open the role details and copy the role’s ARN.
- In Detectify, paste the ARN into IAM Role ARN, enter a Connector name and click Add connector.
Connect with Security Credentials
- In AWS, create a new IAM user and attach a policy that gives it
AmazonRoute53ReadOnlyAccess. - Generate security credentials for the user: an access key and a secret key.
- In Detectify, open DNS Connectors, click Add connector and choose AWS Credentials (Access Key).
- Paste the keys into Access Key ID and Secret Access Key, enter a Connector name and click Add connector.
Domains stored in Route 53 sync with your Detectify team every 8 hours. See Connectors for manual syncs and removing a connector.
